Category Measurement
Revenue, product count and price structure by segment, de-seasonalized so a category measured in July compares fairly with one measured in December.
TrendScout measures entire Amazon categories across US, Canada, UK and EU marketplaces, every product above the sales floor, and reads the search, social, creator and supply signals around them. The result is trend, data and analysis intelligence: where demand is heading, where the gaps are, and when to move.
Every product above the sales floor is measured, not a sample or a top-100 list.
Every number ships with its scope, floor and data vintage.
Ranked opportunities and clear recommendations, not raw data.
Curated reports from our team. Your briefs stay yours.
Category measurement, whitespace, competitive structure, Amazon 1P, review mining, licensing evidence, trend detection and prediction, across US, CA, UK and EU.

Find your question →We measure a category product by product, then combine sales, pricing, reviews, search demand, social and creator signals and seller history into one decision-ready view of where the market is heading and where you can win.
Revenue, product count and price structure by segment, de-seasonalized so a category measured in July compares fairly with one measured in December.
How concentrated each segment is, which brands lead, and how deep their review moats run. See where incumbents are strong and where they leave room.
Segment and price bands with real demand and thin competition, ranked by an eight-pillar opportunity score.
Twelve months of Amazon-as-seller history for every product: where Amazon sells direct, where it has stepped back, and where it has never competed.
Recurring complaints mined from customer reviews in each segment, from durability to sizing to value. The unmet needs a better product could fix.
Licensed share of the category measured against your own property portfolio, with missing properties by segment and unverified listings flagged.
Early signals read week by week: new products entering best-seller lists, young-listing velocity, search and creator momentum, and demand arriving in one market before another. Each trend is staged from emerging to mainstream.
Every call we make is frozen when it is published: the definition, the scope and the window. It is then graded against what actually happened in the marketplace, and the grades are reported with the misses included.
Amazon US, Canada, UK and EU marketplaces, measured the same way, so a category can be compared across markets and a trend can be followed from the market where it starts to the one where it lands.
Marketplace outcomes are the spine. Everything else is a leading signal that gets tested against them. Sources are brought in per engagement, scoped to the category and markets in question.

Detection uses the leading signals. Grading uses only marketplace outcomes, so a call can never be scored against the signal that fired it.

TrendScout combines an automated measurement engine with human commercial judgment. We help brands, licensors, agencies and investors see a category clearly and act with confidence.
We work as an extension of your team. We learn your categories and goals, then deliver the intelligence behind your next product, portfolio, licensing or investment decision.
Every report is scoped to a real commercial question.
Reports, decks and dashboards. We never sell raw data exports.
An analyst approves every segmentation before scoring.
Your briefs, questions and reports stay yours.
You set the question. We measure the category and produce the intelligence. Your team acts on it. There's no software to learn or manage.
You tell us the category, brand, portfolio or question. We confirm the marketplaces and browse trees in scope and the right report level.
We map every product above the sales floor in each marketplace in scope, group variants under their parent product, pull pricing, reviews and seller history, and gather the search, social and creator signals around the category.
An analyst reviews and approves the segmentation before anything is scored. Then every product is scored on eight pillars.
You receive the report, deck and dashboard, and we walk you through the findings and recommendations.
Our methods stay proprietary. The boundaries of every number don't. Each figure we publish tells you exactly what it covers.
No market figure leaves TrendScout without all three.
When we find more market than an earlier method did, we call it a larger addressable market than previously measured. We never present better coverage as category growth.
Trend models are described by their walk-forward backtest results until live predictions have been graded against what actually happened.
A licensed share only means something against a named portfolio at a named date. We never mix shares measured on different scopes or dates.
Remeasurements are stored alongside earlier ones, never over them, so change over time is measured the same way each time.
No. TrendScout is an intelligence service. Our team delivers curated reports, decks and dashboards and walks you through them, so there is nothing to log in to or manage.
Amazon US, Canada, UK and the EU marketplaces. We measure categories by their Amazon browse trees and confirm exactly which marketplaces and trees are in scope before work begins.
Yes, and we keep score. Trends are detected from leading signals (search, creator and social momentum, new listings, best-seller movement) and staged from emerging to mainstream. Every call is frozen when published and graded later against marketplace outcomes only. Grades are reported with the misses included, and until a cohort of calls has been graded we describe the models by their backtests, not by a track record.
YouTube creator panels, TikTok, Instagram and the Meta ad library, Pinterest, and what the major AI assistants recommend when asked buyer questions. Sources are selected and scoped per engagement, and the full stack is listed in the Signals section.
We count every product that Amazon shows selling at least 50 units a month. Products below that line are excluded by design, so our market figures are conservative floors rather than estimates of the long tail.
Every figure states the month it was measured. We remeasure anything older than 60 days before it appears in client material, and keep earlier measurements so you can see change over time.
The Essential Report gives a fast read on one category. The Expanded Report adds a page per segment, competitive structure, review mining and a ranked list of opportunities. Enterprise / Custom is built around a specific brand, acquisition or programme. Licensors usually start with the License Evidence Pack; teams that need to move early add the Trend Radar. We'll recommend a level in your demo.
No. We deliver reports, decks and dashboards with clear recommendations. We don't sell raw data.
Each engagement is scoped to your categories, markets and depth. We share pricing privately once we understand your needs. Paid pilots credit toward an annual subscription.
